Walking into a kava bar for the first time can feel a little mysterious if you've never done it. It shouldn't. We're a regular bar — just one that doesn't pour alcohol. Here's exactly what to expect from the moment you pull into the parking lot.
Before You Come
Bring valid ID
You must be 18+ to enter and to order kava drinks. 21+ for kratom. We card at the door, every time. Driver's license, passport, or military ID all work.
Know our hours
We're open 7 AM to 2 AM, every day, 365 days a year. That includes Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's, Super Bowl Sunday — all of it.
Time it for happy hour (if you want)
We run happy hour four times a day:
- Morning: 7–9 AM
- Midday: 12–1 PM
- Evening: 5–7 PM
- Late night: 11 PM–12 AM
During happy hour: $6 double-shell kava, $8.50 large iced or hot tea, $12 (16oz) or $17 (24oz) extract punch.
Getting Here
Address
404 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415. We're a freestanding building — not a strip mall storefront — just south of the major Military Trail / Okeechobee intersection.
Parking
We have our own dedicated on-site parking lot. No fighting for street parking. No paying a garage. Pull right up.
Walking In
The first thing you'll see is the bar — a full-size bar that runs along the room with stools, plus seating areas around it. There are big-screen TVs, pool tables, and gaming systems. The lighting is warm and the volume is conversational, not club-loud.
Out back is the brick courtyard patio — spacious, naturally ventilated, and beautiful in South Florida weather (which is most of the year).
You'll get carded at the door. Then you walk up to the bar like any other bar.
How to Order If You've Never Had Kava
Easy approach for first-timers: walk up to the bar and just say "It's my first time — what do you recommend?" Our bartenders do this multiple times every shift and they're great at it. They'll ask you a couple of questions:
- Looking for energy, calm, social, or something in between?
- Have you had kratom before, or are we sticking to kava and tea?
- Want to taste the traditional thing, or start with something flavored and easier?
Most relaxed entry: Single Shell of kava with a juice chaser ($6).
Tasty entry: A flavored botanical tea (mango, hibiscus, passion fruit, etc.).
Premium entry: A 16oz extract punch ($15) — balanced and crafted.
What Things Cost
- Single Shell of kava — $6
- Double Shell — $10 (or $6 happy hour)
- Triple Shell or Lowkey Shell — $13
- Small tea — $6.50–$8.50
- Large tea — $10.50 (or $8.50 happy hour)

- Soda — $2
- Energy drink — $4
We accept cash, credit, and debit. Tipping your bartender is appreciated and never expected.
The First Sip
Traditional kava is meant to be drunk in one go — like a shot. Here's the move:
- Pick up the shell with both hands.
- Drink it down in one go (or as close as you can get).
- Chase with a sip of juice, soda, or one of our flavored teas.
- Notice the slight tongue-numbing — that's the kavalactones, that's the good stuff.
- Wait 15–30 minutes before deciding if you want more.
The first wave is usually a calm shoulder-drop and a slightly elevated mood. From there, you decide whether to pace it slower or build a little more.
What to Do While You're Here
- Pool table. Multiple tables. Sign up at the bar.
- Gaming systems. Casual play. Ask the bar what's set up that night.
- Watch the game. Multiple big-screen TVs — UFC, NBA, NFL, college, whatever's on.
- Patio. The brick courtyard is a great spot for groups, conversation, or just enjoying the air.
- Free WiFi. Yep — people study and work from here too.
Common Worries (and the Answers)
"Am I going to feel weird?"
Probably not. Most first-timers describe it as a "calm and slightly happy" wave. It's nothing like alcohol — you're not impaired, you're not loose, you're just relaxed.
"Will I get hung over?"
No. That's the whole point.
"Can I drive after?"
Light dose, fine. Heavy dose, take an Uber. Use common sense the way you would with any new substance.
"Is this going to be expensive?"
No. A full evening at our bar usually costs less than two cocktails at a regular bar. Especially if you hit one of the four daily happy hours.
"What if I hate the taste?"
Tons of options. Flavored shells, botanical teas, extract punches — one of them will land.
The Vibe
The Lowkey vibe is in the name. It's calm without being boring, social without being chaotic, and sincere without being preachy. People come solo to read or work. They come in groups for sports nights, birthdays, and casual hangs. They come on dates. They come on a Tuesday at 7 AM before work just because morning happy hour is the perfect time to be here.
You don't need to be "a kava person" to fit in. You just need to walk in.
