Privacy Policy

Lowkey Kava is a kava bar at 404 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can opt out. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legalese.

The short version: we collect your contact details only if you hand them to us — a receipt, a mailing list sign-up, or a form on this site. We use them to send you receipts and occasional updates about the bar. We don't sell your information to anyone. You can opt out any time by replying STOP to a text, clicking unsubscribe in an email, or emailing us.

What We Collect

At the bar

• Payment information. Card payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your full card number — Square handles that, and their privacy policy governs it.
• Email address or phone number, if you choose a digital receipt or opt into our mailing list at checkout. Both are optional. You can always take a paper receipt or decline.
• Age verification. We check ID at the door because we're 18+ for kava and 21+ for kratom drinks. We look at your ID — we don't scan, photograph, or record it.

On this website

• Private event inquiries. If you submit the event inquiry form on our homepage, we receive the name, phone, email, date, guest count and details you enter.
• Survey responses, if you fill out a survey we've shared with you.
• We do not require an account, and there's nothing to log into.

Automatically

Our web host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. This is ordinary web-server behavior used for security and troubleshooting.

We do not run Google Analytics, a Facebook pixel, or any advertising or behavioral-tracking scripts on this site. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't follow you around the internet.

Cookies and Embedded Content

Lowkey Kava doesn't set its own tracking cookies. However, two third-party services we embed may set cookies in your browser:

• Google Maps — the map on our Visit section is embedded from Google, which may set cookies and receive your IP address.
• Google Fonts — our typefaces load from Google's font servers, which receive a request from your browser.

You can block these in your browser settings. The site still works; the map just won't display.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only with the service providers that make the business run:

• Square — payment processing, digital receipts, and our customer mailing list
• FormSubmit — delivers the contact and survey forms on this site to our email inbox
• Google — Maps and Fonts embeds, and our Google Business Profile
• Hostinger — our web host
• DoorDash — if you place an online order through their platform, their privacy policy applies to that order

We may also disclose information if legally required to — a subpoena, court order, or similar.

Marketing Messages

If you gave us your email or phone number, we may occasionally send you information about happy hour, weekly events, new flavors, or ask how your visit went.

We will never:

• Offer you anything in exchange for a review — that's illegal under FTC rules and against Google's policies
• Sell or rent your contact details
• Send messages between 2 AM and 8 AM

To opt out: reply STOP to any text, click unsubscribe at the bottom of any email, or email lowkeykava@gmail.com and ask. We'll remove you promptly. Opting out of marketing doesn't stop transactional messages like a receipt you asked for.

How Long We Keep It

Mailing list contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Event inquiries are kept about two years. Payment records are retained by Square per their retention schedule and applicable tax and accounting requirements.

Your Choices

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email lowkeykava@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We'll honor any request we're legally required to honor, and generally we'll honor reasonable requests regardless.

Children

Lowkey Kava is an 18-and-over venue. This website and our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We rely on Square for payment security and don't store card data ourselves. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be noted here.
