What is kava, and what does it taste like?
Kava is a traditional South Pacific drink made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant, prepared by steeping the ground root in water. It has been part of Pacific Island social life for centuries.
The taste is earthy, a little bitter and faintly peppery, and it numbs your mouth slightly — that tongue-tingle is how you know it is real root and not a flavoured substitute. If that sounds like a lot for a first try, ask for a flavoured shell or start with a botanical tea instead. We have 28 in-house flavours and any of them can go in at no extra charge.

Do you serve alcohol?
No. Lowkey Kava Bar is completely alcohol-free. The bar is built around kava, kratom, botanical teas and extract drinks. There is no alcohol on the menu and none is permitted on the premises.
How old do I have to be?
18 and over to enter and to order kava. 21 and over for kratom drinks. Valid ID is required at the door, every time, no exceptions.
What should a first-timer order?
A single shell of kava, $6. It is the smallest pour, so you can see how you like it without committing. Add a flavour if the earthy taste is not for you.
If kava itself sounds like a big first step, a 16 oz botanical tea is $6 and is the easier entry point. Either way, tell whoever is behind the bar that it is your first time — they will walk you through it.

Is there Wi-Fi, and can I work here?
Yes to both. Free Wi-Fi, wall outlets for laptops and phones, and no time limit on your table — no cover charge and no minimum either.

Where do I park?
In our own lot, free. Lowkey Kava Bar is a standalone building at 404 S Military Trail with a dedicated parking lot — not a shared strip-mall lot, no meters, no garage.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the covered outdoor patio. Keep them leashed, and bring water if it is hot out.

Four times a day, every day:
• Morning — 7 to 8 AM
• Midday — 12 to 1 PM
• Evening — 5 to 7 PM
• Late night — 12 to 1 AM
During those windows a double shell of kava is $6, a 16 oz extract punch is $12 and a 24 oz is $17.

Yes. Order online through our storefront for pickup or delivery, and we are on DoorDash.

Is the pool table free to play?
Yes. We have one pool table and it is free to play with any drink purchase. First come, first served — sign up at the bar. The weekly Pool Tournament runs Wednesdays at 7:30 PM, $10 entry.
