If you're searching for a kava bar in West Palm Beach, odds are you'll end up on Military Trail. This one road hosts the area's kava scene, from its coffee-forward north end to its late-night south end. Here's every stop, what it does best, and a little history.
Lowkey Kava — 404 S Military Trail
The south anchor of the corridor, and the reason this guide exists (yes, it's our bar — we'll keep the facts straight anyway). Lowkey Kava operates in the corridor's most historic kava building: the standalone structure that housed Tribal Kava, the first standalone kava bar in Palm Beach. Today it runs the longest hours on the Trail — 7 AM to 2 AM, 365 days a year — with happy hour three times daily, 28 in-house flavors, kratom drinks (21+), pool tables, gaming systems, big-screen TVs, and a large outdoor patio. 18+ to enter, on-site parking.
Coastal Kava & Coffee — 1300 N Military Trail
The north anchor, and a genuinely strong bar. Coastal Kava & Coffee pairs kava and botanical teas with a real coffee program, and it has built a large, loyal following. The vibe is spacious and welcoming — family- and pet-friendly, with pool tables, darts, open mic nights, and live music on weekends. If you want kava and a proper latte in the same order, or a spot you can bring the kids, Coastal is the pick.
Tribal Kava — 404 S Military Trail (Closed)
The corridor's history starts here. Tribal Kava opened in 2019 as the first standalone kava bar in Palm Beach — a freestanding building dedicated entirely to kava. It set the template for what a Palm Beach kava bar could be before closing its doors. That same building is now home to Lowkey Kava (a new, independent business). If you were a Tribal regular, read what happened to Tribal Kava and what's at 404 S Military Trail now.
